Handimals by Guido DanieleMonday, February 13, 2012

Italian artist Guido Daniele has become recognized for his “Hand” animals.  At first glance, these human hands/arms look like photographs of wild animals, but are in fact photographs of painted human hands.  Amazing advertisement for AT&T Canada!

This is another favourite of mine.  Spitting image of an elephant!

Food for thoughtWednesday, February 8, 2012

Artist Sarah Asnaghi makes two-part artwork series of human brains made with food.  Barly, chili, hemp seeds, candies, black rice, canarie food, bread crumbs, sugar, and hay.   Some food for thought.

“1/2” Project Optical Illusion PortraitsMonday, February 6, 2012

Venezuela based artist Jesus Gonzales Rodriguez creates a hybrid of portraiture and profile photographs in his “1/2” project.  The use of multiple angles against a plain background allows for both a front view as well as a side profile view of the subject.  I find this uncomfortably intriguing as both sides of my brain are fighting to see both angles…simultaneously.  Very mind boggling.
